Wogonoside improves high-fat diet-induced hyperlipidemia and aortic injury in ApoE -/- mice by upregulating SIRT1 expression

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Wogonoside (Wog), a flavonoid monomer, on hyperlipidemia and explore its possible mechanisms. APOE -/- mice were used establish animal model by feeding high-fat diet (HFD). The serum level triglycerides (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-c), low-density (LDL-c), inflammatory cytokines measured enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), oil red O staining, real-time PCR assay. oxidative stress was ELISA Immunoblot detect mechanism hyperlipidemia. We found that ameliorated lipid metabolism disorders in ApoE induced HFD (P<0.01). also HFD-induced inflammation Further showed improved upregulating SIRT1 expression These results suggested has potential be as promising approach for intervention
